February 15, 2008 - We are pleased to announce that YouthLaunch's Youth Partnership for Change (YPC) program has been selected as a participant in the National 2008 Take It Back Community Briefings. We will join over 350 other groups across the country as part of a national effort to inform communities about alcohol issues that are affecting youth access and underage drinking. While similar to successful Town Hall Meetings, Community Briefings will be organized and led by youth. The meetings will provide youth an opportunity to identify issues they feel need to be addressed in their community regarding youth and alcohol. Click HERE for the Take It Back Community Briefing flyer. The briefings will serve as a starting point for community action by informing youth and adults about current alcohol problems in our community, generating news media coverage, while raising awareness and building support for change. Our local Community Briefings will be held on March 5th, 2008.
Take It Back is a national movement led by youth to reduce alcohol problems and increase the health and safety of youth. Take It Back is not a program, curriculum,or organization. Take It Back is about re-claiming what has been taken from youth due to alcohol. This includes their safety, dignity, culture, and good health and future. Find out more on their website.
