Laura has been working with youth in camps, after school programs, and non-profits for ten years, including the Austin area organizations Citizen Schools and the Girls Empowerment Network. She joined YouthLaunch as a Program Specialist for Youth Partnership for Change in September 2009. She is continually inspired by the youth of today as they speak out, do more, live with intention, and become leaders for the future.

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Laura received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from the University of Arizona in 2006. Later that year, she moved to Austin to pursue her Masters of Arts in English at the University of Texas, which she received in May 2008.

A proud resident of South Austin, she spends her time outside of work cooking, writing, drinking tea with friends, practicing yoga, and having her dog Pepper take her for walks.
