Leigh joined YouthLaunch's Urban Roots Program as a Program Specialist in February of 2010. Raised in Austin, Leigh traveled to Philadelphia to earn a Bachelor's degree in African American Studies and Psychology, with a Certification in Spanish from Temple University. During her undergraduate studies she traveled to Habana, Cuba to study Spanish language and Cuban culture. After completing her degree in 2005, she worked as an Instructional Aide at Neighborhood Charter School, an elementary school in Atlanta, Georgia. Leigh has volunteered and worked locally as a CSA member with Greengate Farm. In addition to her work with Urban Roots, Leigh is currently a mentor with Grrl Action and serving on the KLRU Community Advisory Board.
